In collaboration with the European Inland Waterway Platform and the Horizon Europe funded project PLATINA4Action, SYNERGETICS will co-organise a technology transfer workshop on the greening of the inland waterway fleet. The workshop is scheduled to take place on 4 December 2024 at the University of Antwerp, Klooster van de Grauwzusters.
This is the second event of this type, following the one held in May 2024 at the Maritime Industry Fair in Gorinchem. Its main objective is to provide ship owners and operators active in Belgium and France with information about available solutions for drastic emission reduction. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with technology providers, be informed about practical demonstrations, and participate in discussions concerning the applications and advantages of these technologies.
The event will be conducted in Flemish/Dutch, French and English to overcome any potential language barrier and accommodate all participants.
The workshop will be of particular interest to SYNERGETICS, especially in the context of WP2 Exploration as it features a session where three different greening case studies will be presented. The success stories, lessons learned and the transfer of practical experiences will contribute to the successful fulfilment of the Task 2.2 – Lessons from past pilots, and the completion of Deliverable 2.2 – Report on lessons from past pilots
Furthermore, representatives from SYNERGETICS partners Future Proof Shipping, Zero Emission Services and Compagnie Fluviale de Transport, as well as numerous direct stakeholders, will provide insights into the implementation risks, costs and commercial perspectives of the chosen solutions.
The draft programme can be found online on the PLATINA4Action website. The full agenda including names of speakers and organisations will follow soon.
